GPIC T&I shutdown 2007
MCSC completed major repair and maintenance activities in GPIC Ammonia and Methanol plants during the Shutdown in November 2007. Major jobs executed during the 18 days T&I are given below:
Renewal of Process Gas Cooler (E 1201). Total weight - 50 Tones.
Renewal of EB 1202-2 Convection Coil (EB - 1202-2). Total weight - 45 Tones).
Renewal of Reformer Tubes (B 1201).
Heavy schedule butt welds were examined using advance NDT method of ToFD Ultrasonic Testing.
Renewal of Secondary Reformer (R 0301). Total weight - 310 Tones.
Renewal Ammonia Coils (EB 0302 -1B & 4). Total weight - 35 & 20 Tones.
Renewal of Heat Exchangers (E 0501 & E 0502). Total weight - 20 & 35 Tones.
Heavy Lifts were completed using the following Cranes:
CC 2800-1 (600 / 900 Ton capacity crane) For Secondary reformer replacement
Leibher LR 1280 (280 Ton capacity) for Ammonia Coils & Heat Exchanger
Kobelco 7150 (150 Ton capacity) for Methanol coil replacement.
Multi axle Bogie and Sliding Mechanism to slide out PG cooler
Other 4 Cranes to replace reformer tubes.
